End of the year? Already?
It’s truly hard to believe that the end of the year is soon approaching, with that being said, many of you will soon be Mrs. DeBlock’s “Alumni.” What advice would you give a new 5th grader coming in to our classroom next year? What are some experiences you can share with them to help them adjust to 5th grade and our classroom?
(Just so you know.. I will be picking people who comment on this blog to do the next PODCAST! So make your entry a good one!!!)

Advice I would give an incoming 5th grader……. well you would have lots of fun with Mrs. DeBlock and mrs, S’. you only get to do fun things if you are very well behaved. right now im actually regretting going to 6th grade because Mrs.DeBlock is so much fun. There is so many things to talk about in her classroom, so many things i don’t know if I can list them all !!!!! I really liked the water color painting project. It’s when you write a story about a time you went on vacation or a time you went to a beach. Then after you get to paint an image from that experience. I really liked that project because im a very good artist. Not as good as Mrs. S’ the other teacher. she is so much fun and enjoyable. she can draw really well Mrs. S’ draws almost everything that goes on the bulletin board. There’s many other things like a trip to procters theater, beach blast, trips to museums, and i also liked the trade fair I made dream catchers. I didn’t know they would be so popular. Mrs. DeBlock and Mrs. S’ are both great teachers. I still don’t want to go to 6th grade butt I’ll be ok.

Advice for more fifth graders!!: Mrs.D is the best possible teacher you could ever get along with Mrs.S of course, but to earn her funess you deffinitely have to be well behaved, and you have to be good to earn marbles!! we have a marble jar to fill up with good behavior to earn all kinds of parties!!. She takes you on amazing field trips. My personal favorite was when we went to the New York State Military Museum. One big reminder is that you need to get your homework in on time, never forget your gym clothes, and do your best.(general reminders.) you have fun but you’ll have to follow rules like every other teacher you’ve had so you’ll get used to it and you will have a great time in fifth grade.
P.S: now we need some advice for incoming sixth graders!!
Soon to be!!

Advice I would give to upcoming 5th graders in Mrs. DeBlock’s class is that you do have a lot of fun during class but you need to know when to get back to buisness. One of the activities I liked doing this year was the trade fair because it gives you a lot of independence to know how much work you have to put into having a buisness. I also really liked doing our lock practices becuase it really makes you feel like you’re getting ready to go into middle school which I’m really excited about!!! A great plus this year was that we won field day and I think that really borught us all together as a team which I felt we needed. If you are in Mrs. DeBlock’s class next year you have a great time with her and Mrs. S and you do lots of fun projects. Even though I am very excited about going into middle school I’ll miss Mrs. DeBlock and Mrs. S and all of the great times I had this year with lots of my friends!

Info for a new fifth grader. I would probobly say that even though all the people on your bus are saying fifth grade is really hard, I’d say its pretty easy. In fifth grade you only have the nys tests in Socail Studies, math and ela. You don’t have to do the science one. Also you have co-ed relays and other new stuff in field day that you can do. I also am sad that the year is almost over. Mrs. DeBlock was a lot of fun.

i would say study hard and dont wait until the day before the quiz or test because if not some tests get you less than 90 for one wrong

Mrs.Deblock is realy nice and I would tell the next year 5th graders (4th graders) to try their best.
June 2nd, 2008 at 8:55 am
i would also say use teamwork because if you do you get rewarded with parties and winning field day
June 2nd, 2008 at 8:57 am
and also hope you have a good homeroom mom that bribes you with ice cream to help win field day

My advice is not to over load yourself with clubs and other things. This helps because you get some time to work on projects.
